Authentic World War II U.S. Army sweetheart pillow cover.
These were produced as a souvenir for servicemen to send home during training or deployment. This one is marked “Camp Chaffee, Ark.”, a major U.S. Army training installation established in 1941 near Fort Smith, Arkansas. Sweetheart pillows like this were commonly purchased at or near military camps and mailed home to wives, girlfriends, or fiancées as tokens of love and remembrance during wartime.
The design includes a classic U.S. Army shield, roses, ribbon banners, and the phrases “To My Sweetheart” and “With Love.” A wonderful example of WWII home-front history and patriotic Americana.
Measures app. 16" square, with a 1.5" fringe border.
