An authentic Atelier de Limoges miniature that feels like a tiny piece of European architecture.

This very rare, hand-painted (peint main) porcelain box is designed as a tiered fountain in rich lagoon blue, each level encircled with small orange fish. Rising from the top tier is a finely detailed gilt cherub in a top hat, posed as if conducting the water below.

The stepped, circular tiers and shell clasp echo the lines of classical Roman and European courtyard fountains, giving the piece a quiet architectural presence despite its small size. Open the lid to reveal a deep blue pool with a single stylized fish painted inside, like looking into a private aquarium.
